Worth the Wait

It looks like it might take 3-4 weeks to get your Mac mini if you haven't ordered it yet according to the Apple Store. You can't say I didn't warn you. I'll keep any eye out for any places that may still have stock.

It's the same with restaurants. The great ones always have a wait.

I've been hearing about the Mac mini and iPod Shuffle waiting times, but I've been a bit confused about them. Will the Apple stores and CompUSA have them in stock starting this weekend? If so, then the waiting times only affect you if you're trying to order online, right?

Anyway, keep up the good work on the Mac mini blog. I've never owned a Mac before, but I'm definitely getting a mini and could use a lot of pointers to get the hang of OS X.

I'm not sure about the availability at retail stores. I'll make some phone calls tomorrow and see what I can find out. Also I'll be posting a number of articles to help people make an easy move to OS X.

Good news. I spoke to my local CompUSA manager and their warehouse and they still have minis available. To order use SKU 318373 for the 1.25GHz and SKU 318372 for the 1.42GHz.

You won't be able to get the internal wireless cards but I'm sure these will be available from Apple part suppliers but the price might be more.
